My Journey

I've been an organisational change management consultant for 20 years.
I've been lucky enough to work on some really cool stuff including leading my own $30m consultancy in the UK and working with clients such as Volkswagen, Lego, Fidelity, Johnson & Johnson and PayMe (HSBC). I figured I could turn my hand to anything and had a bright idea for a tech platform.
In 2011 I landed over $1m of seed funding for my tech concept and then had to produce the goods. Through sleepless nights and lots of stress we missed deadlines and compromised quality. I was struggling to build a good tech team and drive them toward success, this wasn't what I wanted, my standards were high, it was obvious to me there must be a better way of working.

Around this time I was introduced to an agility. We got our team back on track, we delivered higher value outcomes, agility made sense and my study of the subject further deepened. The start-up didn't win in our chosen market, we were up against behemoths like Amazon and Google and we relented in the end. But, I quickly realised that the principles, values and systems thinking behind the methods I'd learnt had merit if applied well. After my 'apprenticeship' in Product Management, I moved onto applying these concepts to my already well-trodden path of organisational design and operating model development.
Soon, others wanted me to show them how to transform this way, I learned evangelism wasn't enough and mastery was indeed hard-earned and time served. As my design skills evolved and I continued on a journey of curiosity and growth, my perpetual goal was to become an increasingly valuable asset to my clients, so that they would achieve high performance in their organisations.
The learnings only got bigger and more complex challenges came my way and tested my delivery experience.
My knowledge broadened to include product management, design thinking, lean, system thinking and agile experimentation.
My forte became large-scale change, which involved cultural shifts. Having an organisational development background has enabled me to blend strategy with delivery and I have developed unique proven tools in organisational design, operating model development and operating rhythm implementation.
